Amanda McKinley takes on Race 2 for the Breast Cancer Foundation

500m Swim, 20km Bike, 5km Run. That’s the challenge – the Sprint Triathlon at the Barfoot & Thompson People’s Triathlon Series, December 4th, 2022. Along the way, I will be raising funds to support the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ’s vital work

If seeing in 2020 standing on the top of a snow-covered mountain in Innsbruck, Austria, blissfully unaware of what was coming, says anything, it’s that we need to take any and all opportunities when we can. The last few years have been challenging for all of us and in the middle of all of that, my Mum Debbie faced her second battle with breast cancer with amazing courage and strength. Through all that she was going through, she still helped to ensure our family continued to be supported. Thankfully she has now had her most recent checks and there are no further signs of cancer. This however is not the case for every-one

Every year, 3,300 Kiwis are diagnosed with breast cancer, and more than 650 will die. The money raised will help fund groundbreaking work by some of our countries top breast cancer researchers, educate people about breast health, and provide free support services for breast cancer patients and their families.

I also pledge that if my fundraising goal is reached or surpassed, I will donate a further $500 to this amazing cause.

We think this is an awesome cause and are behind you 100% Keen to donate? check out Amanda’s page here
